Growing up in the 80's, stickers were everything. They weren’t just decorative; they were rewards, collectibles, and even tiny pieces of art. I vividly remember earning scratch-and-sniff stickers for completing my homework or acing a spelling test. Who could forget the candy-like aroma of Chocolate Cookie or the cheerful zesty zing of Lemon? Each scent was a mini-celebration of accomplishment.
These classic stickers weren’t just fun—they were formative. They taught us to appreciate detail, design, and a little flair of creativity in everyday life. And while times have changed, my love of stickers hasn’t wavered one bit.
My Recent Nostalgic Sticker Haul
Fast forward to today, and my love for stickers has evolved into a passion for collecting and creating them. I recently shared a shopping adventure on my studio vlog where I got my hands on some childhood classics! Here are a few of my exciting finds that brought all those childhood memories rushing back.
Scratch-and-Sniff Magic ✨
In the video we visit a store that holds a collection of scratch-and-sniff stickers straight out of my childhood. Scents like popcorn and dill pickle filled the air as I sniffed these stickers—it was instant happiness! I couldn’t resist grabbing a set of the chocolate-covered cherry scent for my personal collection. I've even sent some to my nieces back at Christmas time, hoping to pass along the sticker joy to the next generation.
Stickers with Major 80's Vibes
While technically a modern brand, Pipstickers' designs tap into 80's nostalgia in the best way. Think adorable Care Bears or Strawberry Shortcake motifs. I couldn’t resist grabbing a few new sheets for the sheer fun of it. Their simple layouts make each sticker stand out, and they’re a fantastic addition to my projects or sketchbooks.
Why Nostalgia Matters
Stickers are more than just a fun hobby—they remind us of simpler times. For me, stickers represent creativity and a connection to my childhood curiosity and wonder. Many of us crave that reconnection to playfulness and joy, and stickers are a small but tangible way to bring that feeling back.
